The village of Montgomery will host a free program by Melanie Griffis Jones, a clinical hypnotherapist, at 10 a.m. July 11 at the Montgomery Village Hall, 200 N. River St.

"Clinical hypnotherapy is nothing like stage hypnosis," said a news release detailing the event. "It can help people deal with PTSD, anxiety, abuse issues from childhood and even change the way we deal with grief. You can release unwanted weight, stop smoking, eliminate your fear of flying or improve your athletic abilities with just a few sessions of clinical hypnosis. Not to mention past lives and how we can explore who we were or why we keep doing some things we don’t want to do anymore."

"Even if all you want to do is learn how to relax, Melanie can share easy tools for calming yourself when stressed. And if you want to bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken, join the show and the hypnotist can make it happen for you."

The event is free and handicapped accessible.

The monthly Senior Lunch and activity for ages 55 and older will begin at 11 a.m. after the presentation. There is a $4 cost for the lunch and pre-registration is required.
